About the Role
Part Time | 30 hours | Fixed-Term Contract (Until 31st March 2027) Salary: £25,878 pro rata

At Curo, we believe in second chances and fresh starts. As our Support Worker in Temporary Accommodation Services at Dartmouth Avenue, you’ll be the trusted advocate and friendly face for individuals experiencing housing crises, helping them navigate their path to permanent homes.
This dynamic role positions you at the heart of residents’ life transitions. You’ll support a caseload of households—some for weeks, others for years—by helping them manage budgeting, finances, and housing transitions. Your relationship-building skills and practical support will make a meaningful impact during a critical time in someone’s life.
What You’ll Be Doeing
Spearhead support for residents by:
- Building trusting one-to-one relationships and providing regular, tailored assistance
- Creating and implementing support plans centred around budgeting, financial stability, and housing progression
- Advocating on behalf of residents, liaising with external agencies to secure necessary support
- Conducting risk assessments and person-centred planning grounded in each individual’s unique needs
- Assisting with practical daily challenges and urgency-related housing matters
- Collaborating with the team to ensure seamless operations of the temporary accommodation service

Essential
- Experience interacting with people—whether in professional, personal, or lived terms
- Strong alignment with compassion, equity, and positivity in support work
- Resilience in navigating stress while upholding kindness and patience
- Exceptional communication, including empathetic advocacy for others
- Ability to organise multi-faceted support across diverse resident needs
You Bring Rich Experience Of
- Previous roles in care settings (e.g., care homes, nurseries, homeless shelters)
- Advocacy—either for yourself or others during critical transitions
- Lived experience of housing or systemic challenges faced by marginalised groups
- People-focused careers (customer service, mentorship, welfare support) requiring empathy and problem-solving
- While prior support work experience is helpful, what you value is just as essential
