Support Worker – Children’s SEMH Residential

Gowerton, Swansea

Full Time – 39 hrs per week + sleep-ins

£13.45–£13.75 per hour + £57 per sleep-in

(Driver essential)

About The Role

Make a Real Difference. Build a Brighter Future.

Are you compassionate, patient, and driven by the desire to change a child’s life for the better? At our warm and welcoming home in Gowerton, we’re looking for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact every single day.

At Priority Childcare, we support young people who have experienced childhood trauma or struggle with their mental health. Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, stable home where children can heal, grow, and thrive.

Here’s what one of our Support Workers had to say about working here:

“I value working here because it’s such a supportive and collaborative environment. Every team member is committed to delivering excellent care. The children make this role so rewarding—their individuality and progress give real purpose to my work.”

And The Children Feel It Too

“I like living here because I can be myself. Staff support me in my good moments and my low moments—no matter what.”

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker, every day is different—but always meaningful. You’ll be:

  • Supporting children’s physical, emotional and social needs in a nurturing environment.
  • Being a positive role model they can look up to.
  • Encouraging independence through school, social and community-based activities.
  • Working as part of a strong, supportive team to deliver child-centred care.
  • Keeping accurate notes on progress, behaviours and incidents.
  • Assisting with daily household tasks, including cooking.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
