Support Worker

Support Worker – Floating Support Service

£12.85 per hour | Full-Time | Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire

About the Role

We are recruiting a Support Worker for our Floating Support Service in Middlesbrough. In this role, you will provide vital one-to-one support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs in their own homes or in the community. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assistance with domestic tasks and home maintenance
  • Emotional support and social inclusion
  • Financial management, including paying household bills
  • Shopping and meal preparation

This service covers a 5-mile radius around Middlesbrough, supporting approximately 30+ service users, with plans to expand further.

Creative Support is a non-profit organisation dedicated to delivering person-centred support for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and other support requirements.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and practical/emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities or mental health needs
  • Identify opportunities for social inclusion and engage service users in community activities
  • Work recovery-focused, aligned with individual support plans
  • Collaborate with service users, families, and professionals to ensure consistent, coordinated care
  • Assist the line manager with the day-to-day management of the service

Person Specification

Experience & Skills

  • Open to graduates, experienced practitioners, or career starters in social care
  • Must demonstrate empathy, warmth, and person-centred working approach
  • Full UK driving licence is essential for this role
