Support Worker (Supported Living Service) Part Time

Support Worker (Supported Living Service) – Part Time (18 to 25 hours per week)

Empowering adults to thrive in their own homes and communities.

About the Role

Do you want to help make Gateshead a place where everyone thrives? If this resonates with you, we invite you to read on—you could be the perfect fit for our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Gateshead Council’s Adult Social Care as a Support Worker within the Supported Living Service.

At Gateshead Council, you would be a valued member of a team that recognises and respects your skills, fosters creativity, and advocates for a strong work/life balance. We pride ourselves on our forward-thinking approach and believe our employees embody the spirit of helping Gateshead flourish.

With flexi-time, hybrid working flexibility, and an extensive range of employee benefits, we ensure that you receive more than just a salary.

Our Supported Living Service supports vulnerable adults to live independently, confidently, and safely in their own homes. You would play a vital role in creating person-centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and community inclusion—helping individuals live the life they choose, on their own terms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold the rights and dignity of each tenant, considering individual vulnerabilities, needs, and outcomes.
  • Provide risk assessment support while respecting choices and preferences.
  • Deliver personal care or support as needed, working within the Enablement Framework to enhance independence and self-management.
  • Support tenants in community settings, ensuring person-centred care plans are adhered to.
  • Enable tenants to make independent choices in daily activities and community engagement.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues, tenants, advocacy services, and other professionals to coordinate support.
  • Manage household administration tasks, including maintaining records and aligning care plans with tenants’ wishes.
  • Assist tenants with household tasks, meal planning, and daily living skills, while promoting safety and security.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
