Support Worker – Linsell House
Team: CAS - Linsell House - LD Job Family: Supporting – CBG6+2 Salary: £27,694 - £29,064 per annum (pro rata) Hours: 35 hours per week Location: Linsell House, Ridgeway Avenue, Dunstable, LU5 4QJ Contract Type: Permanent (Fixed Location) Closing Date: 11th July 2026 Interviews: W/C 20th July 2026
About the Role
Linsell House is a care home in Dunstable, delivering residential, respite care, and support for adults with Prolonged and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Currently rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our mission is to help residents reach their full potential by:

- Enabling them to live their best lives and discover their "greatness."

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of residents are met through a supportive and compassionate environment.
- Assisting in personal care, including nourishing daily living skills and meaningful interactions.
- Collaborating to develop individualised support plans aligned with residents’ goals.
To accelerate your growth, you’ll receive structured training, including:
- Medication administration procedures
- Support to the management team in running essential service areas
- Possibility of key-working with Residential Workers
- Attendance at resident meetings or appointments

Who We’re Looking For
We seek enthusiastic, reliable, and flexible individuals with:
- Exceptional communication skills
- A genuine passion for caring for people with disabilities
While NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is advantageous, we welcome applicants without these qualifications who demonstrate:
- Strong commitment to the role
- Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications
Our team members receive ongoing training to ensure confidence and competence in working with adults who require tailored support.
Critical Requirements:
- Proven experience in working with people with disabilities in a relevant setting.
- Empathy, insight, and guidance when supporting disabilities while offering enrichment opportunities.
- Positivity, adaptability, and a people-centred mindset.
- Professional relationships built through integrity and consistency.
- Ability to write reports and think independently.
- Reliability, both in shift-based work and occasionally during holiday trips or outings.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (Health & Social Care – England)
- Communication and listening skills
- Empathetic and supportive approach to care
- Strong organisation skills
- Respect for cultural diversity
- Collaborative team player
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity
- Accountability in personal development
- Skilled in record-keeping
- ISO accredited knowledge of disability support
- Comfortable working in a 24/7 environment
- Basic computer proficiency
