About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Surface Treatment Design Technician. This role is an integral part of our organisation where you will assist with the design and delivery of a range of Surface Treatments across the whole of Cornwall.

Candidates will need to show a keen interest in designing and measuring various roads for our core client in Cornwall and assist with any works for external clients across the South West. Additional support and training will be given where required.

If you love to get out and about, walking and would like to see more of the Cornish countryside and spectacular views then this is the job for you. A full driving licence is required as you will be required to drive a company vehicle and the successful candidate must have a keen eye for health and safety as the role involves attending sites and carrying out site work.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Providing adequate design information to collate job packages
  • Assisting with the pricing of new works for client approval
  • Assisting in the supervision of works on site to ensure that the design aims are achieved
  • Assisting with the development and management of the main surface treatment programme
  • Work closely with colleagues, parish and town councils and general public to investigate, resolve and design out issues relating to schemes being delivered

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
