Company Description

Today, Assystem is among the top three independent nuclear engineering firms worldwide. With over 60 years of experience in highly regulated sectors, the group supports public and industrial stakeholders in the execution of complex and strategic infrastructure projects, subject to high safety and security requirements.

Assystem mobilizes 8,000 experts in 13 countries and intervenes across the entire project lifecycle, in engineering, project management, and digital solutions.

Our Environmental Consents & Engagement (ECE) practice provides strategic environmental advice, consenting expertise, and stakeholder engagement to enable the successful delivery of major developments across the UK.

Job Description

Join Assystem and help deliver one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

Assystem is seeking an experienced surface water consultant / hydrologist to join our growing environmental team, supporting the delivery of the Sizewell C project.

This provides a unique opportunity to combine the support and career development of a global engineering consultancy with the experience of working at the heart of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll be embedded as an integrated member of the project team while remaining part of Assystem's wider environmental practice. You'll benefit from the support, mentoring, and career development opportunities of Assystem, while gaining invaluable experience working directly with one of the UK's largest construction programmes.

This is not a traditional design consultancy role. Instead, you'll provide technical oversight and assurance for surface water management across a major construction project, helping ensure that drainage, water management, and environmental requirements are aligned throughout project delivery.

Working closely with environmental specialists, designers, and construction teams, you'll review technical information, identify potential risks, and provide practical advice to resolve issues before they become problems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
