Position Overview:
We are looking for four reliable and motivated Surfacing Operatives to join our growing surfacing team, based in Central East Scotland (Falkirk, Edinburgh, Fife and Tayside). These are hands-on roles supporting the delivery of road surfacing and highway maintenance projects across the region.
We are recruiting for the following positions:
- 1 Screwman
- 1 Paver Operator
- 2 Roller Operators
- 1 Banksman
- 1 3CX Operator
- 1 Labourer
Working as part of a skilled surfacing crew, you will play a key role in laying and finishing asphalt safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work outdoors, travel to various sites, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and teamwork.

These roles require flexibility, as nightshift working is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out work in accordance with instructions given by the Foreperson
- Ensure all plant and equipment is properly maintained, safe to use and operated in the manner for which it was designed
- Maintain all PPE to a high standard to ensure it is in a good serviceable condition
- Support less experienced operatives
- Maintain professional working practices
- Ensure compliance with company rules, procedures and safety commitments
- Report all accidents, incidents, near miss events, issues and concerns
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the quality requirements of the specification
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
Essential
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Commitment to working safely and following procedures
- Flexible approach to working hours and site locations
Desirable
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in surfacing, construction, highways, or a similar environment
