Joining Breedon means becoming part of a team that values excellence and is committed to making a positive impact.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Surfacing Supervisor to lead our West Coast surfacing team in the delivery of road surfacing and highway maintenance projects. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for supervising surfacing operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders, you will coordinate site activities, manage resources, and promote a strong safety culture. This role involves working outdoors, travelling to sites, and leading teams across a variety of projects. Nightshift working is required.

  • Lead and motivate surfacing operatives, promoting high standards of workmanship and teamwork
  • Plan daily activities and allocate labour, plant, materials, and equipment efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company procedures at all times
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain effective communication throughout projects
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure surfacing works meet contract specifications and customer expectations
  • Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, and ensure safe systems of work are followed
  • Conduct routine checks on plant, equipment, and PPE, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements
  • Complete site documentation, including daily records, safety documentation, and project reports
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, defects, or near misses promptly
  • Work flexibly across different sites and shifts, including night work where required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
