About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Survey Assistant to join our Smart Monitoring team, supporting a diverse range of surveying and monitoring projects across London and the UK.
You'll gain hands-on experience with both traditional surveying techniques and the latest survey technologies, developing your technical skills through a structured learning environment. From data collection on site to processing and delivering high-quality survey outputs, you'll play an important role in helping our team deliver exceptional results for national and international clients.
This role would suit someone looking to build a career in Geospatial Surveying, who is eager to gain hands on experience across a range of exciting projects. Whether you’re a graduate, have a relevant technical background, or are looking to develop practical site experience, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support Surveyors with on-site data collection and office based data processing across a variety of monitoring and surveying projects.
- Learn and apply surveying principles, techniques and technologies while developing towards becoming a well-rounded Surveyor.
- Assist with the management of survey data from collection through to final project delivery, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Work collaboratively to deliver projects safely, efficiently and in line with company standards, specifications and agreed timescales.
- Provide project updates to Surveyors and Project Managers, helping to ensure deadlines and budgets are achieved.
- Liaise professionally with clients on site when required, communicating project related information back to the project team.
- Contribute to a wide variety of projects across buildings, infrastructure, rail and engineering environments.
- Work flexibly, including occasional night shifts and staying away from home when project requirements demand.
What We're Looking For
- Surveying experience and/or A Levels, NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Surveying, Geospatial, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- A genuine passion for developing a career in Geospatial Surveying and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to work.
- Confident using IT applications and keen to learn new surveying technologies and software.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Flexibility to travel throughout the UK, work occasional night shifts and stay away from home when required.
- A valid CSCS card is essential. PTS or other site competencies would be advantageous.
- Experience or knowledge of measured building surveys, topographical surveys, rail surveying, monitoring, laser scanning, AutoCAD, data processing or RICS Property Measurement Standards would be beneficial but is not essential.
