Surveyor

Location: Washington, covering North East Region
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £35k + Company Van + Flexible Benefits

Freedom’s Networks team has an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor to join our long-term Cable Engineering Services contract with Northern Powergrid. Supporting projects across the North East region, you will play a key role in surveying existing infrastructure, assessing required works, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with client standards and expectations.

Working independently and reporting to a Supervisor, you will be provided with a company commercial vehicle to support your day-to-day activities.

Key Deliverables

  • Conduct full surveys of services and customer properties to ensure infrastructure meets current standards.
  • Complete on-site pre-work risk assessments to identify hazards prior to work commencing.
  • Produce condition reports and maintain accurate asset records.
  • Assess current network conditions and identify required improvements.
  • Carry out site surveys and assessments to develop solutions for existing infrastructure.
  • Plan works on site and annotate maps in line with client requirements.
  • Obtain and record agreements from customers and landowners where required.
  • Liaise with landowners, customers and members of the public regarding planned works.
  • Attend site visits to resolve access issues and customer queries.
  • Record all required works accurately and capture supporting photographic evidence using handheld devices.
  • Ensure all survey information is completed accurately and submitted within required timescales.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good understanding of LV DNO networks and the ability to interpret plans and drawings.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to support operational requirements and varying working hours.

Desirable:

  • Practical experience working in and around customer properties.
  • Previous surveying experience within utilities or infrastructure projects.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
