Surveyor – Utilities & Infrastructure

We are Dalcour Maclaren, a leading professional services firm in the Utilities and Infrastructure sector. As part of our ongoing growth, we’re seeking an ambitious, MRICS/AssocRICS-qualified Surveyor to join our team, delivering specialist advice to drive net-zero projects across the UK and Ireland.
About the Role
At Dalcour Maclaren, our land, environmental, and geospatial experts work together to unlock critical project consents for energy, transport, and national infrastructure. You’ll play a pivotal role in:
- Providing strategic land and property advice to clients, ensuring seamless delivery of high-impact utility and infrastructure schemes.
- Taking ownership of client projects, ensuring objection-free consents through agile problem-solving, proactive communication, and rigorous quality control.
- Mentoring juniors and developing your leadership alongside a comprehensive programme of continuous professional development (CPD).
- Upholding Dalcour Maclaren’s values—excellence, sustainability, and collaboration—while contributing to companywide initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who:
- Hold MRICS or AssocRICS qualification.
- Have a full UK driving licence.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Leading land/property projects or managing cross-functional teams.
- Resolving complex consents challenges with commercially astute solutions.
- Collaborating with internal/external stakeholders (clients, contractors, landowners, consultants).
- Are problem-solving König’s—adaptable, ethical, and proactive.
- Have a strong client-focused mindset, enjoying both self-directed work and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
As a Surveyor at Dalcour Maclaren, you’ll be responsible for:
Client Delivery & Professional Service
- Deliver end-to-end surveying and property advice to meet client statutory, regulatory, and commercial objectives.
- Apply superior technical knowledge (consents, valuation, geographical intelligence, stakeholders liaison) to oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Lead objective resolution teams, negotiating with landowners/occupiers and navigating Employment Land Tribunals if necessary.
- Ensure standards, timelines, and budgets align with client expectations, while maintaining prudent risk management.
Team Development & Knowledge Growth
- Support and onboard junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Develop your own expertise through company-provided CPD and paid study leave.
- Ferment best practices within projects, sharing insights to elevate the team’s capabilities.
Company Community & Media Deputy Life
- Participate in team-building activities, company events, and social initiatives.

Requirements
- Qualifications: MRICS or AssocRICS (preferred).
- Soft Skills: Natural leader, team player, great communicator.
- System/Hardware: Windows desktop & laptop familiarity (including project management internal tools).
- Commitment: Full-time, office-based role (incl. travel to project sites).
