Role Description
Surveyors at Groveland Expert conduct on-site inspections of housing conditions, documenting property defects, disrepair issues, and environmental factors relevant to legal proceedings. This contract role involves gathering detailed evidence, taking measurements and photographs, and in the vast majority of cases going on to prepare structured reports that meet court standards and litigation timelines. Surveyors analyze findings in line with legal and technical requirements, ensuring that all conclusions are objective, clearly reasoned, and supported by evidence. Day-to-day work includes managing case files, and maintaining high levels of consistency and accuracy across all instructions. Surveyors are expected to work independently on-site while adhering to agency methodologies and compliance protocols.

- Must be MRICS or FRICS as acting as an independent Expert Witness to the Court
- Solid background in residential or housing condition surveying, with experience producing detailed property inspection reports.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, structured written reports suitable for legal or technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret building defects, environmental issues, and causation in line with relevant regulations and standards.
- Understanding of the role and responsibilities of an expert witness, including duty to the court and evidential integrity.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple instructions within litigation timelines.
- Effective communication skills for working with solicitors, clients, and other stakeholders in a professional, impartial manner.
- Familiarity with housing legislation, disrepair standards, and court procedures related to property condition disputes.
