WHERE YOU SIT

As our Sustainability Advisor, you’ll be part of the Sustainability team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Sustainability Reporting Manager. You’ll be right at the heart of fast-moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.

WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE

The Sustainability Advisor will provide expert support in gathering, validating and interpreting sustainability data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance against ESG and sustainability standards and priorities. This role will act as a key liaison between operational teams and the Sustainability Reporting Manager, helping to embed robust data processes and improve the quality of sustainability metrics across the organisation using their influencing skills. The Sustainability Advisor will help prepare reports, responding to audit requirements and advising on best practices for data integrity and regulatory alignment. The Sustainability Advisor will also support the continuous improvement of sustainability data so that it is transparent and credible.

Core Accountabilities

As our Sustainability Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Data & Performance Management: Collect, validate and analyse sustainability data (including GHG emissions), identify trends and improvement opportunities, and enhance data collection and reporting processes to support informed decision-making.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Communications: Support the preparation of internal and external sustainability reports, respond to ESG ratings and assessments, and coordinate sustainability-related enquiries across the business.
  • Compliance & Assurance: Maintain accurate, consistent and auditable sustainability data, while supporting audits, assurance activities and compliance with relevant reporting frameworks and requirements.
  • Projects & Business Engagement: Lead or support sustainability projects, share industry best practice, and influence stakeholders across Dr. Martens to drive positive sustainability outcomes and timely delivery of key initiatives.

Key Skills & Capabilities

Put simply, the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong data analysis skills with excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling and interpreting sustainability and emissions data.
  • Organised & Proactive: Self-motivated with strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sustainability Expertise: Previous experience in a sustainability-focused role, supported by a degree or equivalent qualification, with hands-on experience in carbon footprinting, emissions data collection, validation and reporting.
  • Collaborative & Tech-Savvy: Confident communicator who can build relationships across internal and external stakeholders, with experience using sustainability reporting or carbon accounting platforms such as Watershed or similar systems.
