Are you passionate about turning sustainability ambition into measurable outcomes and ready to help the NHS progress toward net zero through practical, scalable solutions? We’re looking for a Sustainability Lead to drive Ambu UK’s sustainability agenda with a clear focus on circularity, responsible operations, and customer impact.
This is a high-visibility role where you’ll translate global ESG priorities into local action, strengthen Ambu’s position as a trusted sustainability partner, and ensure our sustainability narrative is evidence-led, commercially relevant, and aligned with regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
A major part of your remit will be leading the UK launch and commercialisation of the Ambu® Recircle take-back and recycling programme, an initiative designed to help hospitals reduce waste through a traceable, compliant recycling process.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and execution of Ambu UK’s sustainability strategy, converting global ESG priorities into clear plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Embed sustainability across commercial, operational, and clinical engagement, making it part of “how we do business”.
- Lead the UK launch and commercialisation of Recircle, including customer onboarding, operational delivery, and value communication aligned to NHS sustainability targets.
- Ensure alignment with evolving UK regulatory expectations, procurement frameworks, and industry standards.
- Build compelling, credible environmental and commercial value propositions that support Hospitals net zero and efficiency goals.
- Develop an evidence-led sustainability narrative and ensure consistent, compliant communication across internal and external channels.
- Track, analyse, and report sustainability KPIs and impact metrics, turning progress into insight and action.
- Provide market intelligence and stakeholder insight back to the Global ESG team to shape ongoing strategy and priorities.
- Build partnerships across customers and the wider ecosystem (industry, non-profits, government, academia) to accelerate collective action on sustainability challenges.
- Lead internal engagement and capability-building so teams can confidently embed sustainability into decisions and customer conversations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
