Sustainability Manager
Marston Holdings is a leading provider of technology enabled services to both the public and private sectors. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sustainability Manager to lead and deliver our sustainability strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape environmental and social impact across our organisation while ensuring best-in-class reporting, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
As a key subject matter expert, you will work cross-functionally to drive sustainability initiatives, support operational teams, and ensure alignment with regulatory and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a sustainability expert internally and externally, driving continuous improvement of sustainability initiatives
- Lead the development and delivery of sustainability strategies aligned with organisational goals
- Manage and develop a direct report
- Oversee statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g., SECR, ESOS), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate ESG disclosures for investors, lenders, and stakeholders
- Maintain environmental and ESG policies, ensuring they remain up to date
- Support operational teams in achieving GHG reduction and net zero targets
- Track, analyse and improve key environmental metrics, including waste and recycling
- Collate and analyse ESG data to inform decision-making and reporting

Engagement & Collaboration
- Drive colleague engagement initiatives such as the Green Team
- Support marketing, tenders, and new business opportunities with sustainability input
- Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and accreditation bodies
Accreditations & Standards
- Maintain and develop key accreditations including:
- Pledge to Net Zero
- UN Global Compact
- Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
What We’re Looking For
- Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative team player with a strategic mindset
- A self-starter who can challenge and drive improvement
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sustainability role within a commercial organisation
- Strong understanding of sustainability, decarbonisation, and environmental challenges
- Experience managing large datasets and producing reports (Excel or specialist tools)
- Proven ability to deliver projects and meet fixed deadlines
- Experience working with external stakeholders (clients, regulators, etc.)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Relevant qualification (e.g., IEMA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) or demonstrable experience
- Full UK driving licence
