Are you passionate about driving environmental sustainability and making a real difference? We are seeking a Sustainability Officer to join the East Midlands Joint Sustainability Unit, a pioneering partnership between Nottinghamshire Police and Derbyshire Police. In this exciting role, you'll help shape and deliver sustainability initiatives that support our journey towards net zero, improve social value and embed sustainable practices across both forces.

πŸš€ What you'll do

  • Support and deliver sustainability programmes, including carbon reduction, waste management, energy efficiency and green travel initiatives.
  • Help drive fleet electrification projects and support the transition to zero-emission vehicles.
  • Analyse environmental performance data to inform decision-making and support reporting requirements.
  • Work with departments, suppliers and stakeholders to embed sustainability and social value into projects, procurements and day-to-day operations.
  • Lead engagement activities, including events, workshops, communications and the Green Champions network, helping to build a culture of sustainability across both forces.

πŸ’‘ What We're Looking For

  • Experience working within sustainability, environmental management, carbon reduction or a related field.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting, environmental data analysis and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build effective working relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • A degree in an environmental sustainability-related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
