Sustainability Specialist

ESG Officer

Location: Bristol or Edinburgh (Hybrid)

In this position, you’ll be based in either the Bristol or Edinburgh office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining days. Learn more about our flexible work culture.


About the Role

At Computershare, our Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) team is central to delivering and supporting our global ESG and Net Zero programmes. This is an exceptional opportunity to launch or expand your career in sustainability within a supportive global environment, offering hands-on experience and growth.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across different regions and functions, gaining exposure to activities including environmental data management, sustainability reporting, and employee engagement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

You’ll thrive in a dynamic, hands-on role, with a particular focus on Net Zero and carbon reduction strategies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the collection, organisation, and analysis of ESG data
  • Assist with ESG/sustainability reporting, including disclosures and carbon footprint analysis
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive and support global ESG/Net Zero initiatives
  • Contribute to internal ESG communications, facilitating our Sustainability Champion network
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, networks, and ongoing sustainability projects

What We Look for

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A genuine passion for ESG and sustainability
  • Proactive self-starter mindset with the desire to make a positive impact
  • Confidence in independent work while knowing when to seek support
  • Strong communication skills (from entry-level to senior management)
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, systems, and reporting frameworks
  • Adaptability and resilience for a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Attention to detail, especially in data accuracy, interpretation, and reporting

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Foundational knowledge of environmental management and corporate sustainability
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong data-handling capabilities
  • Familiarity with sustainability topics, ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD), or environmental reporting
  • Experience interpreting and presenting complex information clearly
  • Experience in a corporate environment, particularly within sustainability, compliance, or related fields
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
