Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility of the project, leading the analysis and optimisation of industrial baking processes. This includes identifying operating conditions that balance energy efficiency with main product attributes such as texture, moisture, color, and shelf life. The role involves designing and conducting experimental trials, implementing optimisation strategies, and contributing to the development of a pilot-scale oven system.

The main aspect of the role is the transfer of academic knowledge into practical industrial application. The Associate will adapt proven engineering and technological solutions to a food manufacturing context, combining hands-on practical work with data-driven analysis. The ability to approach challenges in a structured, analytical, and innovative way will be essential.

The Main Responsibilities Include

  • Managing a strategic, high-value project from concept through to implementation.
  • Translating academic expertise into commercially viable solutions.
  • Driving innovation in baking processes and energy efficiency.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across both organisations, including production teams and senior management.
  • Reporting progress, presenting findings, and supporting strategic decision-making

The role also offers valuable commercial exposure through engagement with clients and suppliers, as well as participation in international industry events and conferences.

Candidate Profile

A First-Class or 2:1 Honours degree, MSc, or PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
