Responsibilities
- Execution of platform underwriting
- Underwrite in accordance with global product standards, best practices, and risk appetite framework
- Servicing the business
- Submission management, quoting, negotiations
- Determine when to loop in global product heads
- Monitor portfolio / AvE
- Support global product heads in
- Quarterly reporting
- Analysis of portfolio
- Messages to quarterly meetings
- Team Management
- People management – directing daily activities, staff planning, hiring process
- PMP Process – goals, professional development, salary / bonus admin, in coordination with global product heads
- Manage platform meetings to ensure coordination within the UW team and across functions
- Ensure underwriters make the right connections to global product heads as necessary
- Engagement with non-underwriting functions
- Regular engagement with platform support functions to ensure good coordination with underwriting – ops, finance, claims, reserving, legal, etc.
- Business Development
- Communicate platform underwriting appetite to the market
- Develop strategic broker and client relationships within platform underwriting appetite
- Strategy
- Contribute to global strategy process

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- A college or university degree
- Typically a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the (re)insurance business
- Developed senior client and broker relationships within the casualty reinsurance and insurance industry
- Understanding of casualty portfolio management practices
- Strong team management capabilities
- Excellent and proven ability to work with, design and build complex risk systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of design of reinsurance and risk transfer mechanisms
- Travel required
