Software Engineer II – Dundee (Hybrid)

Role: Software Engineer II
Location: Dundee (hybrid) Grade: 10
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Quality Assurance
- Develop high-quality software aligned with requirements, promoting reusable components and maintainability.
- Diagnose and resolve system failures caused by software errors.
- Implement software maintenance and tracking tools for seamless operations.
Technical Documentation & Collaboration
- Provide technical content for documentation, user guides, and cross-functional training.
- Conduct unit testing, track defects, and ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Analyze, design, and implement software solutions to improve code stability, performance, and reusability.
Code Review & Estimation
- Lead and participate in code review sessions.
- Create accurate estimates for project tasks, including assisting in dependency and effort analysis.
- May lead or advise engineering teams as a subject matter expert in their domain.
Knowledge Sharing & Technical Leadership
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor IDE).
- Disseminate knowledge within teams to foster end-to-end development excellence.

Cross-Functional & Solution Management
- Engage with Solution Management and internal teams for collaborative problem-solving.
Essential Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Technical & Industry-Specific Experience
- 4 to 6 years in software design and development (experience (minimum 4 years in preferred tech stack preferred).
- Core Technologies:
- .Net, ASP.Net, C#, WPF/Windows-based applications (experience with Windows forms is a must).
- XAML, SQL (MySQL), test frameworks, NuGet packages (preferred).
- AI Tools: Experience with Copilot, Cursor IDE, Wheelsurf is an advantage.
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and Windows programming.
- Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance best practices.
Soft Skills & Work Culture
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies (preferred).
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, innovation-driven financial technology environment.
Desirable Experience (Bonus Qualifications)
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum principles.
- Knowledge of XFS (EFT Processor) standards (rust-belt ATM networks).
- Experience with ATM systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in Jira, Jenkins, Subversion/GitHub, and NUnit.
