Swimming Teacher
Swimming Teacher & Coach (Flexible Opportunities)
Salary: £16.35 - £17.47 per hour Hours per week: Flexible (specific days or short-term assignments as preferred) Unauthorised Payments: Includes a 10% market supplement; reviewed annually
About the Role
We are seeking passionate, motivated Swimming Teachers to join our dedicated Aquatic Team. This role offers flexibility, aligning with those who prefer autonomous scheduling and dynamic work opportunities.
Our Teacher-Coaches lead safe, fun, and effective swim lessons, catering to both group classes and individual 1-on-1 sessions. You’ll play a critical role in fostering swimming skills and enthusiasm in our community, prioritising health equity, accessibility, and vulnerable group inclusion.
The ideal candidate is adept in:
- Inspiring learners through teachable, structured methods
- Adhering to safeguarding protocols for children and vulnerable adults
- Communicating clearly—both verbally and nonverbally
Responsibilities
The Swimming Teacher & Coach role equips candidates with:
- Designing & delivering swim sessions – Create age & ability-specific plans to keep engagements engaging and productive.
- Ensuring safe practice – Follow protocols to minimise risks, complaints, and incidents.
- Safeguarding duties – Protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Staff interaction & development – Offer constructive feedback within the team (e.g., training, model approaches).
- Community connection – Engaging participants both in-person and virtually when applicable.
Requirements
Essential
- Must hold Level 2 or above (swim instructor or equivalent) qualification, Swim England registered.
- Demonstrated expertise teaching children and young people in a leire/approved environment.
