Mae Prosiect SIARC (Siarcod yn Ysbrydoli Gweithredu ac Ymchwil gyda Chymunedau) yn gweithio tuag at weledigaeth sef bod siarcod, morgathod, a chymunedau arfordirol amrywiol yn elwa o ymagwedd cynhwysol at gadwraeth a gwaith ymchwil morol yng Nghymru. Mae Prosiect SIARC yn cael ei arwain gan Gymdeithas Sŵolegol Llundain a Chyfoeth Naturiol Cymru, ac fe'i cwblheir mewn partneriaeth â phartneriaid cyflenwi, cysylltiedigion a chydweithwyr. Gyda'n gilydd, rydym yn gweithio gyda chymunedau arfordirol ledled Cymru, gan gynnwys pysgotwyr masnachol a hamdden, dinasyddion wyddonwyr gwirfoddol, ysgolion cynradd, ac ymchwilwyr. Project SIARC (Sharks Inspiring Action and Research with Communities) works towards a Vision that threatened sharks, skates and rays and diverse coastal communities benefit from an inclusive approach to marine conservation and research in Wales. Project SIARC is led by ZSL and Natural Resources Wales (NRW), and completed in partnership with Delivery Partners, Affiliates and Collaborators. Together, we work with coastal communities around Wales, including commercial and recreational fishers, citizen scientist volunteers, primary schools, and researchers. Using money raised by National Lottery Players, the National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Project SIARC is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Welsh Government’s Nature Networks Fund.

Diben y rôl | Purpose of the Role
Swydd cyfnod penodol yw hon tan 31 Awst 2027 a bydd yn cynnwys gweithio gyda sawl sector yn bennaf i ddeall yn well werthoedd a chanfyddiadau cymunedau yn rhanbarth Bae ac Aberoedd Caerfyrddin o ran yr amgylchedd morol (gan gynnwys rhywogaethau siarcod a morgathod na wyddys llawer amdanynt). Gyda chefnogaeth arbenigwr ar degwch cymunedol, hawliau, a diogelwch cymdeithasol Prosiect SIARC, bydd y rôl yn nodi blaenoriaethau cyfranogwyr lleol, yn datblygu a chefnogi ymgysylltiad cymunedol, ac yn cydlynu trafodaethau grwpiau ffocws mewn meysydd allweddol yn rhanbarth Bae ac Aberoedd Caerfyrddin. Mae hyn yn cynnwys gwaith cwmpasu i gyd-ddatblygu ymchwil fiolegol, ymgysylltu ag ysgolion, a gweithgareddau ymgysylltu cymunedol ac ar yr un pryd hefyd cefnogi gweithrediad fframwaith FAIRER Cymdeithas Sŵolegol Llundain ar gyfer gweithgareddau Prosiect SIARC o fewn rhanbarth Bae ac Aberoedd Caerfyrddin.
This is a fixed term position until 31 August 2027 and will primarily involve multi-sectoral working to better understand the values and perceptions of communities in the CBAE region towards the marine environment (including little understood species of shark, skate and ray). Supported by the Project SIARC Community Equity, Rights and Social Safeguards Specialist the role will identify local actor priorities, develop and support community engagement and coordinate focus group discussions in key areas in the CBAE region. This includes scoping work to co-develop biological research, school engagement, and community engagement activities while also supporting the implementation of ZSL’s FAIRER framework for Project SIARC activities within the CBAE region.
