Position Location

This position is based in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Job Overview

Provide GCCS-J Systems Administration and other Services as required. These services shall include maintaining current system operations and capabilities, incorporating new software capabilities and assisting with system integration, analysis and recommendations for current and future architecture, providing on call support for end users, perform all security functions as required, performing technology refreshes and supporting Information Assurance (IA) policies.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist with systems administration duties including monitoring, installations, upgrades, patches, and configurations to maintain the baseline software configuration in an operational.
  • Attend project meetings, technical working groups and conferences as required.
  • Assist in maintaining the GCCS-J production system hardware (e.g., servers, workstations, storage area network (SAN) devices, and associated peripherals, etc.) configurations in an operational.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting analysis of all GCCS-J production systems.
  • Download and implement software patches, configurations, and STIGs from approved DoD, DHS, DISA, CG, and OEM repositories on a monthly patch cycle to the GCCS-J production.
  • Assist in ensuring baseline systems maintain compliance with customer IA.
  • Assist with system testing and Maintain system proficiency.
  • Adhere to policy and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering support contractors allowing the Engineering Support Contractor to obtain the information it will need regarding the implementation of maintenance of GCCS-J engineering baseline system hardware and software to the production.
  • Provide user orientation training as required.
  • Assist in the development of documentation to include but not limited to SOVTS, Instructional Guides, monthly reports, and system design.
  • Provide and update drawings.
  • Utilize customer helpdesk functions.
  • Provide telephone support services for all GCCS-J users 24 hours a day and seven days a week (24/7) to meet continuous operations of the GCCS-J production.
  • Travel to supported sites as needed for system upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other support contractors.
  • Other tasking as directed.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Four (4) years' of system administration.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain additional system certifications as required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Preferred:

  • 4 years GCCS administration.
  • Experience with Solaris OS, Linux OS, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows Server, Agile Client, Agile Server, DISA, GCCS-J, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), VMware vSphere, Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work both remotely and on customer site.
  • Occasional travel will be necessary.
