Job Description: System Administrator
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a System Administrator based in United Kingdom.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled IT professional who enjoys solving complex problems and keeping systems reliable, secure, and efficient.
- You will support a global workforce by managing devices, software, networks, and security solutions across multiple environments.
- The position combines hands-on technical support, infrastructure management, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
- You will play an important role in maintaining smooth daily operations while helping strengthen IT standards and security practices.
- Working with a collaborative international team, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and improve internal technology processes.

Accountabilities
The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining reliable IT operations, supporting employees, and ensuring that technology systems remain secure, efficient, and well-documented.
- Provide technical support to employees across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations, software, peripherals, and IT equipment.
- Manage and prioritize technical requests through ticketing systems such as Jira.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and network-related issues.
- Support device lifecycle management, including inventory tracking, setup, deployment, maintenance, and replacement.
- Configure and maintain security solutions including VPN, antivirus, MDM, backup systems, firewalls, and monitoring tools.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, security requirements, and operational standards.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources.
- Support network administration activities involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and related technologies.
- Contribute to IT improvements through automation, scripting, and process optimization initiatives.
- Assist with user access management, system configurations, and infrastructure-related tasks.

Requirements
The ideal candidate has hands-on system administration experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive approach to supporting users and improving IT operations.
- 2-4 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar technical support role.
- Practical experience managing Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN concepts.
- Experience with security tools such as antivirus solutions, firewalls, backup systems, MDM platforms, and logging tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
- Experience working with ticketing systems and maintaining technical documentation.
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge using tools such as Bash or PowerShell is an advantage.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to support users in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage responsibilities in a remote environment.
