System Analyst

System Analyst (Business Systems Analyst) – xpate

At xpate, we are building modern payment infrastructure for businesses operating across borders. Our platform combines acquiring, banking, compliance, and automation into a single ecosystem that helps companies scale globally.

About the Role

We are looking for a System Analyst who is comfortable working in complex technical environments and can bridge business needs with engineering execution. This role requires strong analytical thinking, a solid understanding of fintech and payment systems, and the ability to translate product and business goals into clear technical requirements.

Your Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze, document, and continuously improve our acquiring platform, banking rails, and payment infrastructure.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into system requirements, technical specifications, and solution designs.
  • Integrate new payment providers, banking partners, and external services.
  • Define system workflows, data flows, API requirements, integration logic, and acceptance criteria for new and existing product initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design solutions for current technical challenges and future business goals.
  • Review technical implementation details, including API contracts, data models, logs, and relevant code-level logic.
  • Contribute to improvements in scalability, reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across payment and banking processes.
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality documentation, including:
    • Functional specifications
    • Process diagrams
    • User stories
    • Acceptance criteria
    • API documentation
    • Technical notes
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and platform improvements.
  • Support delivery by clarifying requirements, validating implemented solutions, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution.
  • Contribute to an ambitious product roadmap in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Requirements

To be ideal for this role, you should have:

  • 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Solution Analyst, preferably in fintech, payments, banking, or financial systems.
  • Strong experience documenting business processes, system integrations, APIs, technical workflows, and solution logic.
  • Solid understanding of payment processing, card acquiring, banking integrations, or financial infrastructure.
  • Experience working closely with software engineers in product teams.
  • Good understanding of AWS services and cloud-based architectures.
    • Experience with services such as DynamoDB, Lambda, Aurora DB, SQS, EventBridge, or similar is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, analyze API behavior, understand data flows, and work with technical implementation details.
  • Ability to review code logic or technical implementation at a basic level, a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to break down complex technical problems into clear requirements and practical solutions.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, BPMN, UML, sequence diagrams, or similar tools.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • English level B2+ or higher, as you will work in an English-speaking team.
  • High personal ownership, proactive mindset, and genuine motivation to build and improve products.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation, problem-solving, or research.
