System Analyst
System Analyst – Modern Cross-Border Payment Infrastructure (UK-Based)
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and onward steps.
About the Role
As a System Analyst, you will shape and enhance a cutting-edge cross-border payment infrastructure, supporting global businesses. Operating at the nexus of product, engineering, and business, you will:
- Translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Contribute to a rapidly evolving fintech environment by working on payment systems, banking integrations, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
- Improve platform performance, streamline processes, and support the delivery of innovative financial products.
- Solve complex technical challenges while collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
This role offers daily impact, long-term growth, and the chance to build scalable solutions with direct business value.
Accountabilities
To excel in this role, you must:
- Analyze, document, and improve payment infrastructure, acquisition platforms, and banking integrations.
- Translate business requirements into detailed system specifications, workflows, and solution designs.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and business teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Support integrations with new payment providers, banking partners, and third-party services.
- Define API requirements, data flows, system workflows, and logic for high-priority initiatives.
- Review technical implementation (e.g., API contracts, data models, logs) and support documentation.
- Identify scalability, automation, and efficiency opportunities.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including:
- Functional specifications
- Process/service diagrams
- User stories and technical notes
- Validate delivered solutions, clarify requirements during development, and ensure successful product delivery.

Requirements
Experience (Minimum 3 years)
- Formal experience as a System Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Solution Analyst, or similar.
- Preference for roles within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.
Core Skills & Technical Expertise
- Strong background in documenting business processes, integrations, and technical workflows.
- Deep understanding of payment processing, card acquiring, and banking infrastructure.
- Experience collaborating with software engineering teams in agile environments.
- Cloud knowledge with preference for:
- AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora DB, SQS, EventBridge, etc.)
- General cloud-based architectures.
- Ability to analyze APIs, technical docs, and system flows with a foundational knowledge of code logic.
- Proficiency with:
- Documentation tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Modeling/unpacking tools (BPMN, UML, sequence diagrams).
Soft Skills & Qualities
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (B2 level or higher).
- Proactive mindset, strong ownership, and success using AI tools for analysis/research.
- Ability to work autonomously while driving collaboration.
