System Analyst
System Analyst (Fintech/Payments) – UK Role
Our partner is seeking a System Analyst to join their team based in the United Kingdom. If you thrive at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution in the financial technology (fintech) sector, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape a cross-border payment infrastructure at scale.
About the Role
As a System Analyst, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to:
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Work on payment systems, banking integrations, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
- Drive system improvements in platform performance, workflow automation, and operational efficiency.
- Support the development of innovative financial products.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Integration Analysis
- Analyse, document, and continually optimise payment infrastructure, acquiring platforms, and banking integrations.
- Develop system workflows, data flows, and integration logic across multiple providers.

Technical & Business Alignment
- Translate business needs into technical specifications, workflows, and solution designs.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives.

Provider & Integration Support
- Manage integrations with payment providers, banking partners, and third-party services.

API & Technological Oversight
- Define API requirements, data models, and acceptance criteria for new initiatives.
- Review technical details, including API contracts, logs, and documentation.

- Identify opportunities to enhance scalability, automation, and system reliability.
- Condense insights into detailed specifications, diagrams, and narrated technical reports.

- Validate solutions to ensure they meet requirements.
- Clarify complex technical or business challenges during development.
- Contribute to timely, high-quality product delivery.
Experience & Skills
Essential Requirements
✅ 3+ years as a System Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or equivalent role. ✅ Experience within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services preferred. ✅ Proficiency in documenting business/technical workflows, including:
- System integrations
- API interactions
- Technical specifications ✅ Strong knowledge of payment processing (card acquiring), banking integrations, or financial systems. ✅ Hands-on collaboration with software engineering teams in agile environments. ✅ Cloud technologies (AWS preferred): experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora DB, SQS, or EventBridge is a big plus. ✅ Ability to parse APIs, system behavior, and data flows with a basic understanding of code logic.
Technical & Soft Skills
✔ Utilisation of documentation tools: Jira, Confluence, BPMN, UML, or sequence diagrams. ✔ Strong sense of business analysis, problem-solving, and communication. ✔ English at B2 level or above. ✔ Proactive mindset, ownership, and scalable problem-solving under tight deadlines. ✔ Familiarity with AI tools strengthening analytical workflows, documentation, or research.
