About The Role
We are currently seeking a Systems Developer with expertise in Epicor BisTrack to join a well-established UK manufacturing and distribution business based in Scunthorpe. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the company’s core reporting systems, ensuring operational stability while spearheading modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining, enhancing, and developing reporting capabilities across key departments including Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Finance. You will work across both legacy and contemporary systems, balancing the need for reliable day-to-day operations with strategic improvements that streamline reporting processes and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SQL development, with proven experience in writing and optimizing queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Experience with Crystal Reports is essential, along with a thorough understanding of Epicor BisTrack ERP systems. Candidates should be comfortable working within legacy environments, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing effective solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical, as is the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. A proactive mindset and the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment will set successful applicants apart.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to support reporting needs.
- Support and enhance Crystal Reports in a live environment, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Work within Epicor BisTrack ERP to improve and support reporting and data processes.
- Review existing reports and data extracts to identify opportunities for simplification and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with operational teams to understand their reporting requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
- Support ongoing modernization initiatives to enhance reporting capabilities and data management systems.
- Ensure all changes and updates are implemented safely, minimizing disruption to daily operations.
- Participate in testing, documentation, and user training to facilitate smooth adoption of new or improved reporting tools.
