System Developer

Senior Systems Developer (Epicor BisTrack) – Manchester/South Yorkshire

About The Role

We are recruiting a Systems Developer with Epicor BisTrack expertise to support a major UK-based manufacturer/distributor in Scunthorpe. This multi-disciplinary role offers a hybrid working arrangement (remote + on-site), requiring maintenance, enhancement, and modernisation of reporting systems across key departments: Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Finance.

You will work with both legacy and modern systems, ensuring operational stability while improving reporting structures. Success will depend on technical proficiency, collaborative problem-solving, and the ability to drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven competence in SQL development (query optimization, stored procedures, complex logic)
  • Live environment experience with Crystal Reports (design, troubleshooting, performance tuning)
  • In-depth knowledge of Epicor BisTrack ERP (configuration, reporting, business logic)
  • Legacy system lift-and-shift principals, with a focus on simplifying outdated reporting
  • Methodical troubleshooting skills—breaking down data/performance issues to resolve them
  • Clear communication—bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • Adaptability in adopting new technologies and contributing to platform modernization

Responsibilities

Key duties include:

  • SQL Development – Writing, maintaining, and optimizing queries/procedures for reporting needs
  • Crystal Reports Support – Enhancing existing reports and ensuring accuracy/performance in real-time
  • Epicor BisTrack Integration – Working with the ERP to streamline reporting and data workflows
  • Process Improvement – Analyzing legacy reports and suggesting automation/efficiency gains
  • Collaboration – Partnering with operational teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Change Management – Rolling out updates systematically to avoid operational disruption
  • Technical Troubleshooting – Offering 24/7/365 support for system stability and issue resolution
