Systems Engineer – Integration & Deployment
Defence
Bristol Based
SC Clearance Eligible Required
Must be British Nationals due to secure environment
We're recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join a team delivering complex, multidisciplinary training systems within a highly secure environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys taking systems from concept through to integration, testing, and deployment. The role is focused on practical engineering and system integration rather than purely documentation-based systems engineering.
What You'll Be Doing
- Translating system requirements and architectures into deployed, operational solutions.
- Supporting requirements, design, integration, verification, and testing activities across the full system lifecycle.
- Integrating and configuring hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, and networking infrastructure.
- Performing system bring-up, installation, deployment, and commissioning activities.
- Executing system verification and validation testing.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues across hardware, software, and interfaces.
- Producing technical documentation to support deployment and operation of systems.
- Working on-site during integration and deployment phases to ensure successful delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
