About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex, high-impact technical projects. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you’ll drive engineering excellence across the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery adheres to cost, schedule, and quality expectations.
The Systems Engineering Manager will take ownership of engineering delivery, coordinate teams, and ensure a structured, robust systems engineering approach is applied throughout. As a key interface between technical teams, stakeholders, and customers, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering delivery across multiple projects
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and allocate work packages effectively
- Ensure adherence to a structured systems engineering lifecycle
- Own engineering scope, schedule, budget, and risk management
- Oversee delivery of engineering artefacts to required quality and governance standards
- Identify, assess, and manage technical and delivery risks
- Support project planning, resourcing, and performance reporting
- Manage change, dependencies, and delivery priorities
- Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in systems engineering across the full lifecycle
- Proven experience leading engineering teams (ideally 10+ people)
- Track record in delivering complex, regulated, or safety-critical systems
- Solid understanding of project planning, estimation, and governance in the defence industry
- Confident in engaging with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers
- Ability to balance technical oversight with delivery leadership
