Job Summary/Purpose
The System Operations Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the NERC Certification training program for Transmission Control Center (TCC) operating personnel.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop and administer training to TCC Operators in accordance with the organization’s Systematic Approach to Training.
- Work with Operations Management to develop annual training plans.
- Work with Line Management on projects that impact operator responsibility, tasks and tools used by the training department and the operators.
- Administer operator qualifications and modify tasks as needed while ensuring PER-005 compliance.
- Participate in NERC, SERC and MISO committees that are focused on training.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
High school degree or equivalent or related work experience
Minimum experience required of the position
10+ years system operations or transmission operations experience or 5 years experience with BS or equivalent degree
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
None
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
NERC System Operator Certification
may be obtained after hiring
This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing
