Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting for an exciting opportunity within Fire Control. Working as part of the FCC System Support Group (SSG), you will support system development, configuration, and data verification, helping to maintain the vital information that underpins emergency response and community protection activities.

This role is essential in ensuring operational crews have access to accurate, up-to-date information when responding to incidents, where timely and reliable data can make a critical difference in protecting lives and communities.

About The Role

  • Gathering, verifying, and inputting necessary high-quality data into critical Fire Control systems, such as gazetteer, mapping, and relevant risk information.

  • Ensure that changes made to Fire Control critical systems are recorded and that any significant system changes or development are authorised by the Ways of Working Group.
  • Responsible for adding/removing/updating user accounts for Fire Control critical systems.
  • Take part in any workstreams that integrate or impact with Fire Control critical systems, such as electronic availability systems and mobile data devices.
  • Covering the duties of other members of SSG in the consortium due to absence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
