Systematic Hedge Fund - Graduate Middle Office Technologist - Up to £50k base + bonus + WFH!

Middle Office Graduate Role – Systematic Hedge Fund

An award-winning systematic hedge fund is seeking a recent graduate to join its Middle Office team.

About the Role

This is far more than a traditional Middle Office role.

Given the firm’s systematic approach, all trading and operational systems are built in-house. You’ll be heavily involved in:

  • Developing and enhancing proprietary systems alongside day-to-day operational duties
  • Working in a highly technical team, where every member is proficient in Python and regularly uses SQL

You’ll also collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to fulfil tasks such as:

  • Trade matching with prime brokers and execution brokers
  • Daily P&L monitoring
  • Cash management
  • Margin reconciliations

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of robust trading and operational systems
  • Execute trade execution workflows and reconcile transactions with brokers
  • Assist in end-of-day P&L valuation and variance analysis
  • Support cash position management, including nettings and settlements
  • Monitor and report on margin requirements and counterparty exposures
  • Analyse system log files, errors, and performance metrics
  • Develop automated scripts to improve operational efficiency

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
