SACT Development Nurse – Band 5


About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated nurse to join our nurse-led unit as a SACT Development Nurse at Cathedral Day Unit and Mobile Cancer Care Unit, Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

Located at: Ethelbert Road, Canterbury, Kent CT1 3NG

This role demands flexibility, adaptability, and resilience, but offers extreme professional satisfaction and excellent career progression.

No two days are alike in this multidisciplinary environment. Ideal candidates enjoy working with people, are driven by a desire to make a real impact on patients’ lives, and wish to develop specialised cancer nursing expertise.


Key Responsibilities

✔ Provide holistic care – Care for patients and their families throughout the course of treatment. ✔ Delegate without oversight – Perform competent care duties independently and supervise/train staff (qualified and unqualified). ✔ Manage emotional complexities – Address psychological and emotional challenges faced by patients during cancer treatment. ✔ Collaborative practice – Work with all care disciplines to enhance cancer service development, ensuring high-quality patient management. ✔ Embrace a fast-paced, evolving healthcare landscape – Requires adaptability in clinical skills and teamwork. ✔ Contribute to a patient-centred culture – Utilise professional development to grow as part of specialised oncology care.
