Systemic Family Psychotherapist
Senior DBT Lead - Specialist CAMHS Service
South West London and St George’s NHS Trust
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an established specialist CAMHS Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) service serving Sutton, Merton, Wandsworth, Kingston, and Richmond. The role involves delivering intensive, evidence-based therapy for young people aged 11–17 who experience:
- High levels of emotion dysregulation
- Self-harm or other self-destructive behaviours
The multidisciplinary team works in an outpatient setting, fostering strong working relationships with local CAMHS services and broader interagency networks. Successful applicants will receive training in Prolonged Exposure therapy to address trauma.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and professional leadership in delivering high-quality DBT to young people and families
- Foster collaboration with cross-borough teams under South London Partnership
- Support service development, including participation in evaluation/research (desirable)
- Lead a team within a supportive, inclusive environment that prioritises mental health recovery

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Qualifications and experience delivering DBT in a CAMHS context
- Direct experience working with children and young people in community-based settings
- Experience with:
- Emotion dysregulation
- Self-harm or high-risk behaviours
- Multidisciplinary working and interagency collaboration
- Juncture with Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
- Ability to lead and mentor others in a dynamic clinical service
Desirable
- Experience with populations presenting trauma or disordered eating
- Evidence of involvement in service evaluation or research
