Systemic Practice Lead (ClinPsyD Programme)

Systemic Family Therapy Lead (0.4 WTE) – Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) Programme

Salary Range

  • £66,582.00 – £77,368.00 (paid at NHS Agenda for Change Band 8b) (Note: The salary range will be updated in due course to reflect the UCEA Clinical Academic pay scale uplift effective from 1 April 2026.)

About the Role

We are seeking a clinical psychologist or psychological therapist to join the ClinPsyD programme team in delivering our Association of Family Therapy (AFT) accredited systemic family therapy module embedded within the Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) programme.

This role aligns with Health Education England (HEE)’s priority for 2023–2026 and beyond—benchmarking systemic family therapy training against AFT accreditation criteria.

You will be part of a forward-thinking ClinPsyD programme team responsible for delivering first-class professional training to clinical psychology trainees. The role involves collaborating closely with:

  • The academic and clinical coordinators
  • The programme director
  • Other members of the clinical psychology team

This role seeks to promote a positive, civic tone within the Faculty of Health Sciences, which has an ambitious vision of driving innovation in healthcare, social work, and education.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the AFT-accredited systemic family therapy module within the ClinPsyD programme.
  • Collaborate with the academic, clinical, and research teams to ensure alignment with HEE and AFT accreditation standards.
  • Engage with postgraduate trainees, providing expert guidance and supervision.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance in systemic family therapy training.
  • Promote a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion within the School and University.

Requirements

  • A qualifying clinical psychology or psychological therapy degree (clinical psychology doctorates—ClinPsyD—are desirable but not essential).
  • AFT accreditation or equivalent experience in systemic family therapy.
  • Strong understanding of academic clinical training and teaching for postgraduate trainees.
  • Alignment with the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
