Systems Administrator (DEF System & FOI Support)

Local Authority | Hybrid Working | 6-Month Contract | Competitive Hourly Rate

A Local Authority is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the administration and development of the DEF system whilst assisting with information management and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

This role is suited to a systems professional who can take ownership of system administration, maintain data quality, manage user access, and support service users across a busy Planning Administration environment.

The Opportunity

Reporting into Service Management, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the DEF system, ensuring it remains effective, secure, and fit for purpose. You will act as the key point of contact for system-related matters, supporting users, maintaining workflows, and assisting with the provision of information required for FOI enquiries and reporting requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
