Systems Administrator II (Weekend Shift)
About the Role
The Systems Administrator II provides operational support to and on behalf of the assigned team, which maintains large-scale, global building management and physical security systems. This role involves procedural ticket-based work, requiring a strong technical background in systems administration and networking, alongside a commitment to structured problem-solving and documentation.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Applies company policies and procedures to resolve operational issues
- Handles moderate-scope problems
- Follows general instructions for routine tasks and detailed guidelines for new projects
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor & Escalate Issues:
- Track ticket queue and instant messaging (IM) channels
- Participate in systems management and infrastructure oversight

Comprehensive Technical & Documentation Duties:
- Accurately log metadata in internal tools, including:
- CTI (category, type, and item)
- Outage resolution time
- IM transcripts
- Postmortem reports

Troubleshooting & Collaboration:
- Resolve troubleshooting tickets for internal and third-party teams
- Represent assigned team professionally, aligning with vendor code of conduct

Support
- Provide out-of-hours support for scheduled time-sensitive updates
- Offer 24/7 on-call support for critical system outages

- Duties may expand beyond the listed responsibilities as required
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a recognised university or college
- Experience: 2–5 years in related systems administration or networking
- Skills & Competencies:
- Builds productive internal/external relationships
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures
- Comfortable building and managing servers
- Network configuration & change management expertise
- Strong system/network troubleshooting skills
- Ticket system knowledge and workflow adherence
- Excellent communication & writing skills
