The Role

The Systems Administrator ensures continuity, security, and efficiency across enterprise IT operations. This includes:

  • End-user system support
  • Infrastructure maintenance
  • IT asset lifecycle management
  • Leadership and mentorship of junior team members

We seek a technically proficient, highly organised candidate with a collaborative spirit to bolster a scalable and secure IT environment.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Maintenance

  • Provide hands-on support for Windows and Linux environments, including desktop, server, and systems administration.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues, configure systems, and ensure optimal performance.

Active Directory & Identity Management

  • Administer user accounts, access controls, and group policies using Active Directory and Azure AD.

IT Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Manage procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT assets.
  • Maintain inventory control, software licensing compliance, and asset tracking via IT asset management tools (e.g., SNIPE, ScribbleTech, JIRA).

Reporting & Compliance

  • Generate reports on hardware/software usage, compliance adherence, and asset depreciation for internal and audit purposes.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor junior staff and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to team training and improve operational workflows.

On-Call & Incident Response

  • Participate in on-call rotations and perform maintenance outside business hours when required.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams on incident response and IT operations.

Requirements

Required

✅ 3+ years of experience in systems administration or enterprise desktop support. ✅ Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems. ✅ Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and access/identity management tools. ✅ Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and endpoint security practices. ✅ Familiarity with IT asset management platforms (e.g., SNIPE, ScribbleTech, JIRA). ✅ Ability to perform on-call shifts and experience in off-hours maintenance. ✅ Strong documentation,troubleshooting, and customer service skills. ✅ Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred

✔ 5+ years of IT expertise, with 2+ years in a senior or mentoring capacity. ✔ Experience with Microsoft Intune or JAMF, along with PowerShell scripting. ✔ Working knowledge of ITIL frameworks (change, incident, asset management). ✔ Previous involvement in asset lifecycle planning and procurement strategy. ✔ Experience supporting remote and hybrid work environments. ✔ Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL, Cisco) as a positive.
