Salary Range
- Systems Engineer: £38,000 – £48,000
- Senior Systems Engineer: £44,500 – £56,000
- Principal Systems Engineer: £53,500 – £68,000
- Lead Systems Engineer: £59,500 – £75,000

About the Role
As an Antenna/Electromagnetic Engineer, you will:
- Work within a specialist team of 15 highly motivated engineers
- Focus on electromagnetic design, antenna testing, simulation, and analysis
- Support advanced phased array antenna development across all engineering lifecycle stages
- Foster career growth through formal and on-the-job training
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead or contribute to research and development projects to enhance design, simulation, and measurement capabilities
- Develop or refine phased array antenna systems from concept to integration, testing, and analysis
- Use computational electromagnetic (CEM) simulation tools to assess and optimize design, installation impacts of sensors, and stealthiness of vehicles
- Support antenna/electromagnetic measurement campaigns (model & design validation)
- Conduct technical assessments/modelling to ensure system/subsystem compatibility with overall performance
- Collaborate with antenna test engineers to define test procedures, create plans, generate reports, and present findings

What You’ll Bring
- Degree in a STEM discipline (Physics, Mathematics, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or related field)
- Experience in electromagnetics (antenna design/measurement/simulation, computational electromagnetic modeling (CEM), radio frequency (RF) design, microwave engineering, stealth technology)
- Numerical problem-solving skills with an adaptability to lateral thinking
- Working knowledge of MATLAB for data analysis
- Demonstrates sed applied to complicated subjects with clarity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with engineers, managers, experts, and customers
Nice-to-Have
- Postgraduate degree (MSc/PhD) in Physics, Antenna Design, Propagation, Electromagnetics, Microwave Engineering, Data Analysis
- Hands-on experience with phased array antennas or microwave components testing (using Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and spectrum analyzers)
- Familiarity with CST Microwave Studio or similar electromagnetic modelling software
Security Requirements
This position requires pre-employment screening, including:
- UK Government Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
- Additional Personnel Security Controls (NSV), which may include:
- Security Check (SC)
- Developed Vetting (DV)
