PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

You will be involved in maintaining, supporting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting on products and services that form the foundation of the BBC News Planning technology estate. You’ll be of a mind-set that looks to automate repetitive tasks and rapidly surface issues requiring attention. The team manages the deployment of new code releases as part of the Continuous Integration pipeline.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The BBC Technology Group provides the foundations for broadcasting. Technology engineering has a long history at the BBC and today includes everything from broadcast engineering, programme management, operations, DevOps, and software engineering.

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a DevOps mind-set and a breadth of knowledge covering cloud technologies – in particular, AWS. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and demonstrate your DevOps engineering skills working in a cutting edge and challenging field.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
