About the Role

Join ALTEN, a global engineering consultancy, as a System Engineer to support a major spacecraft mission within the space sector. You will play a central role in defining, coordinating, and validating system-level behaviour across multiple subsystems, ensuring the spacecraft meets its mission requirements with reliability and precision.

You’ll lead system engineering activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical solutions that drive innovation in aerospace technology.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead system-level requirements definition, flow-down, and traceability across all spacecraft subsystems.
  • Develop and maintain the system architecture, ensuring coherent interfaces between electrical, mechanical, RF, software, and payload domains.
  • Produce and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system specifications, and verification plans.
  • Coordinate technical activities across multidisciplinary teams, aligning with mission-level objectives.
  • Support trade-off analyses, design reviews, and system-level decision-making throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Lead system-level verification and validation, including:
    • Functional testing
    • Performance assessment
    • Compliance checks
  • Analyse subsystem interactions, identify key risks, and drive mitigation strategies to ensure spacecraft reliability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
