About the Role
Core Responsibilities
- Support project teams in addressing complex integration problems for clients on major infrastructure programmes
- Lead tasks in challenging project environments, managing additional resources on larger projects or taking sole ownership of smaller initiatives
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and mentor Early Career Professionals, guided by a commitment to continuous collaboration and innovation
- Add strategic value to high-priority systems engineering projects by applying pragmatic problem-solving and collaborative teamwork
- Contribute to interdisciplinary team development, with a focus on both technical and business growth
- Develop proactive commercial responsibility for projects while fostering wider business awareness in our consultancy setting
- Seek new learning opportunities—both internally and externally—to expand capability in determining optimal project approaches while balancing capability, resource availability, time, and cost constraints
- Maintain an updated Continuous Professional Development (CPD) record and build a strong professional network

We seek candidates who can deliver excellence in systems engineering and integration, with demonstrable experience in the following areas:
Essential Criteria
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Chartered status (or ability to achieve it within the near future) with a professional engineering body
- Post-degree experience delivering systems integration within the rail sector
- Experience applying system design tools (e.g., DOORS) and techniques (e.g., Model-Based Systems Engineering, MBSE)
- Expertise in defining and implementing systems engineering approaches and tools across projects
- Background in client-facing roles or stakeholder engagement
Preferred Qualities (Advantageous)
- Experience leading other professionals in managing systems engineering projects
- Knowledge of challenges across different lifecycle phases in systems engineering
- Demonstrated interpersonal and presentation skills
- Capacity for innovative ideas in advancing systems engineering services
