Are you an experienced Systems or Qualification Engineer with a background in environmental and EMC testing within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated industry? I want to talk to you!
I'm recruiting for a Systems Qualification Engineer to join a globally recognised engineering organisation that develops advanced, safety-critical technologies for both commercial and military applications. This is an opportunity to take technical ownership of qualification programmes across multiple high-profile projects, working on cutting-edge products within a collaborative engineering environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading qualification activities from planning through to certification, whilst mentoring others and influencing engineering best practice.
Please note, due to the nature of the work and access to classified information, candidates must hold a British passport and be eligible to obtain and maintain the required UK national security clearance and/or EU security clearance, in line with applicable government, security, and export control regulations.

The Role
As the technical lead for qualification activities, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering environmental and EMC qualification programmes across a range of complex engineering projects. You'll work closely with design teams, external test houses and project stakeholders to ensure products achieve the required qualification and certification standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead qualification programmes across multiple engineering projects.
- Produce qualification plans, test procedures and qualification reports.
- Coordinate environmental and EMC testing with external test facilities.
- Witness and oversee qualification testing, including occasional travel to test houses.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the qualification function.
- Support new product development, military programmes and legacy product updates.
Essential Experience
- Experience leading environmental qualification testing programmes.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and EMC testing, including areas such as:
- Environmental testing
- EMC testing
- Humidity testing
- Compression testing
- Emissions
- Lightning testing
- Experience working to standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810 or equivalent qualification standards.
- Experience producing:
- Qualification Plans
- Test Procedures
- Test Reports
- Experience managing qualification activities throughout the full V-Model lifecycle.
- Background within aerospace, defence or another safety-critical engineering environment (automotive candidates with strong EMC experience will also be considered).
