You will collaborate closely with CTI analysts, architecture teams, and platform vendors to deliver:

  • A secure, scalable, and resilient T-ISAC service.
  • Novel solutions for real-time threat intelligence.
  • Infrastructure automation, API integrations, and scalable platforms.

About The Team

The GSMA Industry Security Team is the industry’s focal point for mobile network security. Our responsibility spans:

  • Coordinating GSMA member security working groups.
  • Leading global cybersecurity initiatives for the telecom industry.
  • Engaging with regulators and stakeholders to ensure security enables, rather than blocks innovation in next-generation mobile services.

The team manages key industry-wide cybersecurity programs:

  • Telecommunications Information Sharing and Analysis Center (T-ISAC)
  • Mobile Co-ordinated Vulnerability Disclosure (CVD)
  • Network Equipment Assurance Scheme (NESAS)

About The GSMA T-ISAC

The Telecommunications Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (T-ISAC) is a trusted cybersecurity collaborative for telecommunications operators globally.

Our Mission:

  • Facilitate intelligence sharing among mobile network operators (MNOs), Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), and industry stakeholders.
  • Provide critical threat intelligence to foster a secure environment where network security vulnerabilities and threats are proactively addressed.

About The Role

As the T-ISAC Platform Software Engineer, you will engineer, maintain, and optimise the platforms, tooling, and integrations that empower the T-ISAC service.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable data workflows, automated processes, and collaborative tools for threat intelligence sharing and enrichment.
  • Leverage cutting-edge technologies to ensure seamless operations across data pipelines and member communications.

Service Reliability & Operations

  • Lead platform operations through:
    • Proactive performance monitoring.
    • Incident response and mitigation.

    • T-ISAC members and ecosystems.

Platform Roadmap & Technical Strategy

  • Shape the roadmap for T-ISAC’s technical evolution.
  • Define future architecture for:
    • Scalable, distributed systems.
    • Leveraging emerging innovative technologies.
    • Evaluating new capabilities while maintaining backward compatibility.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure an industry-standard secure posture by:
    • Enforcing secure coding and DevOps practices.
    • Implementing automated threat response tools.
    • Adhering to regulatory, governance, and compliance frameworks.

Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Foster a trusted community through:
    • Cross-departmental technical currently with MNOs, analysts, and researchers.
    • Mentorship and knowledge dissemination to enhance platform adoption.
    • Strengthening member loyalty and improving threat intelligence utility and accessibility.

About You

Core Attributes

This is a senior technical role for a passionate, highly capable leader who thrives in real world problem-solving. Your responsibilities include:

  • Transformation of industry frameworks into seamless technical implementations.
  • Technical evangelism and innovation to drive telecommunication security forward.

Telecommunications & Industry Experience

  • Proven experience in the telecom domain, whether through:
    • Operator roles.
    • WiTPS operator collaborations.
    • Industry, vendor, academic, or wider mobile ecosystem participation.

Technical Expertise

  • Engineering excellence when designing and operating:

    • Core infrastructure platforms (multicloud, distributed).
    • Data analytics, threat intelligence, and cybersec systems.
    • Platforms in sectors like cybersecurity, software engineering, or intelligence (e.g., ISAC, adversary analysis).
  • Experience working alongside telecommunication ISACs or similar information intelligence frameworks.


Skills & Qualifications

Essential

✔ Hands-on engineering: Extensive experience building and maintaining intelligence platforms like:

  • OpenCTI (or similar incident response platforms).
  • MISP/Threat Intelligence Platforms.

✔ Open-source collaboration: Proven ability to integrate open-source tools for analysis, research, and operational efficiency.

✔ Threat intelligence profundity: Deep understanding of:

  • Nation-state actors, cyber espionage, and advanced threats (e.g., APTs and Qakbot exams).
  • Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)—especially for telecom ecosystem attacks (e.g., SS7, IoT, SCADA).

✔ Telecom laypers: Professional experience with:

  • Telecom infrastructure (MNOs, MVNOs, manufacturers, vendors).
  • Direct engagement with operational stakeholders and vendor partnerships.

🚀 Technical Regions-Specific Proficiencies:

  • Understanding of mobile data and protocols (e.g., SS7, MOTIF/HRN, IRSF/URLS, SIMToolkit, or ·).
  • Awareness of mobile network attack landscapes (e.g., SMS flooding, IoT botnets, Targeted PDUs, M119 Fault Code).

🚀 Industry Specialisers:

  • Experience with mission-critical first responders (police, cybercrime units, or other government. agencies like FBI/Crown Prosecution Service) for threat analysis.

🚀 Advanced Threat Analysis & Frameworks

  • Expertise with:
    • Mitre ATT&CK* framework and phishing techniques.
    • OpenCTI, MISP, MetaYield or EclecticIQ.
    • COI analysis (memories, law enforcement, state-sponsored** agencies).
