Halfords Automotive – Vehicle Technician/Mechanic


KEY DETAILS

  • On-target earnings up to £45,000
    • Base salary: £32,790 – £38,100
    • Uncapped monthly bonus scheme (average additional earnings: £6,900/year)
  • Hours: 5 days a week

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you’ll bring valuable expertise in:

  • Servicing and repair/replacement work
  • Diagnostics for vehicle electrics, brakes, steering, suspension and engine systems
  • Complex repairs (e.g., clutches, timing belt replacements, coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket fixes)

Training & Development:

  • Pathways to hybrid training, Automotive Technician Apprenticeship (ATA), and MOT Tester qualifications*

REQURIREMENTS

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Certified Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent time-served experience
  • A full UK driver’s licence with no more than 9 penalty points
  • Hands-on experience as a Technician/Mechanic with:
    • Diagnostic expertise in brakes, steering/suspension and electrical systems
    • Advanced repair tasks (e.g., fixing coolant leaks, immobiliser/head gasket replacements, diesel injectors)
