Purpose:
The UK Sourcing team consists of procurement professionals supporting Clients across a range of indirect spend categories. The team provides sourcing services throughout the procurement lifecycle, including market research, supplier engagement, tender support, commercial evaluations, negotiations, and contract administration.
The Associate Consultant will support sourcing activities across IT-related categories, including software, hardware, IT services, telecommunications, and infrastructure. Working alongside more experienced team members, the successful candidate will contribute to sourcing projects, supplier management activities, and contract negotiations while developing their procurement expertise.
The role is suited to an individual with 2–3 years of procurement or sourcing experience who is keen to build their knowledge of the IT market and procurement best practices within a client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of low to medium complexity IT sourcing projects.
- Knowledge of and ability to drive Sourcing process including the development of requests for, issuance of request, receiving and evaluation of RFI and RFP.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and support the development of sourcing strategies.
- Conduct supplier & market research identifying sourcing opportunities & trends.
- Support contract and commercial negotiations under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist in the preparation and review of commercial documents, contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), and supplier proposals.
- Build, maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Help identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and value creation for Clients.
- Maintain sourcing documentation and ensure sourcing activities follow Chain IQ processes, tools, and governance requirements.
- Support senior colleagues on larger or more complex sourcing initiatives when required.
- Contribute to category knowledge and market intelligence for assigned IT spend areas.
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications
- Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
- Progress towards CIPS qualification (or interest in obtaining CIPS) is desirable.
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or category support roles in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to IT-related categories such as software, hardware, telecommunications, cloud services, or IT professional services is desirable.
- Experience supporting sourcing activities, contract administration, supplier management, or commercial negotiations.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier engagement activities.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, minimum be able to develop pivot tables and spend analytical skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident working with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Basic understanding of contracts and commercial terms.
- Willingness to learn about software licensing, SaaS agreements, IT services, and commercial models.
- Advanced in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset.
- Enthusiastic about developing a career in IT procurement and strategic sourcing.
