TAILOR – TOM FORD SLOANE STREET

The Tailor in Tom Ford Sloane Street is responsible for delivering an exceptional client experience through expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. Acting as a brand ambassador, the Tailor ensures that all garments meet the highest standards of fit and finish, in line with Tom Ford’s identity and values, contributing to client satisfaction and loyalty.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • A genuine passion for luxury and an interest in the retail and fashion industry.
  • Strong experience as a Tailor/Seamstress specializing in Menswear.
  • Strategic intuition and a pragmatic approach to tailoring luxurious garments.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of seam stressing and tailoring in accordance with TOM FORD guidelines.
  • Modifying garments according to customer instructions, which can include tapering pant legs, lining sheer garments, removing pockets, or adding padding.
  • Altering garments to enhance comfort and fit, such as shortening sleeves or straps, narrowing lapels, as well as taking in or letting out seams.
  • Sleeves’ jackets must be shortened specifically from the shoulder.
  • Carry out accurate fittings as well as timely completion of alterations of the highest standards with particular attention to every detail and finish.
  • Ensure all deadlines for alterations and adjustments of garments are met, immediately communicating any issues to colleagues and/or management as appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate and efficient lines of communication and coordination with management in your own boutique as well as other boutiques.
  • Perform successfully and productively as a member of the team, exchanging ideas and boosting spirits while making sure there is always enough boutique coverage and excellent time management.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts from Monday through Sunday.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a tailor – minimum 3 years.
  • Thorough understanding of buttonhole, hemming, stitching, overlock, and professional steam iron machines.
  • Fabric and garment design and construction knowledge.
  • Good time management, problem-solving, and organizing abilities.
  • Outstanding sewing skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Attention to details.
